“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1: 5-9
The dark is a scary place to be. No wonder children are afraid of the dark.
Spiritually speaking, the darkness is a place to hide. But this hiding place consumes us and presses in on us. It confines. It chokes. It isolates. It binds us to the point where we feel it’s impossible to break free. It’s where we lose are bearings, our sense of who we are, who we belong to and how we are called to live.
But, thank you God, we don’t have to be bound by darkness. Thank you God, that you are Light. Thank you for bringing sweet freedom and relief with your Light. Thank you that the sun rises every morning, and thank you that along with the morning, comes your infinitely new mercies. Bring the light to the dark in my soul.
Healing Begins – Tenth Avenue North
So you thought you had to keep this up
All the work that you do so we think that you’re good
And you can’t believe it’s not enough
All the walls you built up are just glass on the outside
So let ’em fall down
There’s freedom waiting in the sound
When you let your walls fall to the ground
We’re here now
This is where the healing begins, oh
This is where the healing starts
When you come to where you’re broken within
The light meets the dark, the light meets the dark
