The end of the semester is almost here (insert bells, whistles, cheers, marching band).

My journalism class changes at the semester (insert more bells, whistles, cheers and throw in another marching band…if you’ve heard the stories, you know).

As much as I’m ready for the break, we just haven’t had enough time to thoroughly cover one of most favorite units — typography (the art of arranging type) and graphic design. I’ve taken what I usually spend six weeks on and crammed it into a week and a half, and it just hasn’t done the serifs and picas justice.

So let me geek out for a moment, and say good typography matters, and evidently, the federal government agrees, no matter the cost. So while everyone argues upper versus lowercase, I’m just thankful they aren’t reprinting the signs in Papyrus or Comic Sans.
